Have you been wanting to get a better understanding of Ayurvedic medicine, but maybe find the internet a little too cluttered with information? Hopefully this will improve with time, as more and more people discover the benefits of living with Ayurvedic remedies at their fingertips. But for now, if you search for a site about Ayurvedic medicine you’re likely to be sent to a pit of densely-worded information. How to make sense of it all?

Let’s start with just one concept at a time: Tridoshas.

According to Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of healing, the body is made up of three things: tissues (dhatus), waste (malas), and doshas (energy). These three, the Tridoshas, are meant to create tissues, remove waste, and cause movement and activity.

When the Tridoshas are imbalanced, it could be due to a number of causes. Natural imbalances are generally not a big deal, and are mostly caused by age or time of year. Unnatural balances can be more serious. For example, an unnatural cause of imbalance might be a virus, parasite, poor diet or lifestyle, or more. Here’s the good news: Unbalanced Tridoshas are often easily handled, as we can affect them with things that are in our control (such as diet).

For example, here’s a delicious Indian recipe (brought to you by Only My Health TV) that’s said to help balance Tridoshas:
